Basin and Range National Monument is a breathtaking natural wonder of about 1,100 square miles (2,800 square kilometers) located in central Nevada, USA. Its isolated wilderness areas feature unique geological formations, scenic vistas, ancient petroglyphs, and some of the best night sky and stargazing opportunities in the region. Basin and Range National Monument is accessed by rough roads and has no fees. With appropriate desert travel preparation, it is an appealing destination for families, budget-conscious travelers, photographers, and those interested in remote, rugged landscapes.
